Il Carnevale di Venezia è un tripudio di colori e una festa per i sensi. Bellissimi costumi e maschere stravaganti sono ovunque per le strade strette. Non si può credere ai vostri occhi. Una meravigliosa esperienza.

Sometimes I think landscapes is my favourite photo subject. Until I start snapping Moo. But I do like trying to squish a mega-vista into a relatively tiny frame. Madness. More often than not, I just can’t do it justice. Which is why it’s better to go out and SEE STUFF FOR YOURSELF, innit. I would not consider myself well travelled, but here are some of my chosen landscapes….

Brrr! Snap Slappers Goes Wintery

I don’t know about you, but I’m fecking freezing.

Here’s Venice, in February, looking cold:

I’m pretty sure I just saw a polar bear. A FECKING POLAR BEAR. In Venice.

Well, of course I didn’t. This was all done by the magic and wonder of photo editing site Picnik. Which should have a health warning, it’s so addictive. It instantly makes all your photos look amazing. Or, really cold.

I’m A Snap Slapper

Yes I am.

And Five Go Blogging didn’t have to bully me into it or anything. I quite simply LOVE playing around with the photo editing site Picnik and if you haven’t already, you BLOODY SHOULD. It’s lushballs.

I basically wazzed up the colour and increased the exposure a bit before sharpening the image. Yah.

This time last year…

Blue dusk in Venice

Venezia! Carnevale! A well-needed holiday… I was already pregnant but had no idea (so don’t think about all those spritzers I drank…) just completely in thrall to this beautiful city. Maybe one day I’ll go again – before it disappears beneath the lagoon. For now, I have the photos. I love the colours in this one – blue dusk, pinprick orbs of ochre light, candy stripe gondola poles and the dirty pale domes. Magnifico.
