I’m not a technical wizard. I don’t know what half the buttons are for on my camera. I’m pretty sure one is ‘delete’ (it has a little picture of a trash can next to it) so I don’t press that one. But the others are MYSTERIES to me. The time-travel button; the turn-everything-green button; the automatic-unicorn button? Those are all features on cameras, yeah?

So when I do take an awesome photo, it’s more by LUCK than sheer skill.

But I like taking photos and I think I’ve taken some good ones. And sometimes, I don’t even have to Picnik them (ahem).

This was taken in my garden a few years ago. I crouched down real close to the flowers and snapped. When I looked at it a bit later on the computer I thought ‘Ooh that’s pretty’. I like the way the focus dips rapidly towards the bottom of the frame, and how that vivid purple kind of hits you between the eyes. Anyway. In my opinion, this photo would look great all big and on canvas and stuff, so I’m hoping I might have a chance of winning The Gallery.
